MPTC Cancels Commencement, Says Safety Comes First

Moraine Park Technical College has decided to cancel its 2020 commencement ceremony. Earlier this month, the College announced an alternative date for this year’s ceremony. But with the uncertainty surrounding the reopening of the state, MPTC President Bonnie Baerwald made the decision to cancel the celebration slated for June 27^th. 

Baerwald said, in a press release, that the safety of students, employees and the area communities is of the utmost importance to them, and with so many unknowns and safety at the forefront, it was the right thing to do. Baerwald extended a personal invitation to the graduates to participate in next year’s ceremony, scheduled for May 2021.
