MPTC Gas Utility Program Fills Fast

Moraine Park Technical College is launching a new gas utility program as an aging workforce in the industry leaves a demand for skilled workers and technicians.

President Bonnie Baerwald says the new program sets students up for great positions in the electric industry. She tells us “in this particular program, students will learn how to bury gas lines, troubleshoot gas hook up and disconnect gas from residential and commercial, so lots of opportunity for high paying jobs.”

MPTC also hosted an open house for people to view the new Energy Education Center on their Beaver Dam campus. The first group for the program, starting this June, is already at full capacity.
