MPTC Honors 20 Graduates from Manufacturing Skills Academy

Moraine Park Technical College recently honored 20
graduates from its fall 2019 Manufacturing Skills Academy. The graduation
ceremony, held December 12th saw 10 students graduate from the
program in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and 10 from welding.


CNC graduates include Jason Carter, Trey Halfmann, Chad
Lange, Christopher LeFeber and Jonah Olson – all from Fond du Lac, Timothy Sullivan
of Eldorado, Peter Braun of Columbus, Mark Harris of West Bend, William Neumann
from Germantown and Dominick Rome of West Lake.


Welding graduates include Tyrone Coleman, Jasy Mendoza,
Joseph Pickart, Andrew Pierce, Jordan Pinch and Elise Winkel – all from Fond du
Lac. Alex Wertzberger from Brownsville, Micah Toeller of Campbellsport, Jacob
Vick of Beaver Dam and Dylan Shreves of West Bend were also welding graduates.


MPTC says in a news release that the program was designed
to combat the skilled worker shortage by offering a variety of “boot camp”
sessions, which teach skills that are unique to a particular pathway. The
program also combines a 144-hour paid internship with coursework.


397 students have taken part in the welding & CNC boot
camp programs since they started in 2012.
