MPTC Students Take Active Roles

Two students at Moraine Park Technical College have taken active roles in the school outside of their studies. Dewayne Sexton of West Bend was recently honored at Moraine Park’s Student of the Year. Sexton has served as governor for the school’s student government and majored in management and supervision. He was an orphan and also served in the military. He says going to MPTC was about honoring his family and those that he served with who lost their lives at an early age. He says being named Student of the Year was like icing on the cake. Christine Gil of Fond du Lac is serving as the District Student Ambassador. She says after having a daughter in 2014 she decided to go to school so she would have better career opportunities. She’s expecting another child in September, but she says she will continue her education and hopes to graduate next spring with a degree in human resources.
