Multiple Fights Break Out At FDL High School, Investigation Continues

A number of fights broke out on the campus of Fond du Lac High School Tuesday morning, with numerous squad cars and officers from the Fond du Lac Police Department and Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department responding to the scene.

In an email sent to parents, Jim Steinbarth, Principal at Fondy High, said “students were held in their classrooms for several minutes while staff and police officers worked to address an altercation between several students due to ongoing conflicts that started outside of school. School Administrators along with our law enforcement partners were able to address the incident immediately.”

Steinbarth said resources will be made available to students and parents as needed. And students who participated in the fight will be suspended and referred for criminal charges. Principal Steinbarth also said the District will be proceeding with a thorough investigation which lead to expulsion.

He also said the District will be allocating additional police officers to Fond du Lac High School for the foreseeable future.

Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue Chief Peter O’Leary said crews did treat and release one patient, for what was referred to as a “fat lip” suffered in one of the altercations.
