Names Released in Fatal Highway 45 Crash

A Fond du Lac man is dead
after a two-vehicle crash along Highway 45 in the Township of Eden.

du Lac
County

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene near Mink Road.

Investigators believe a
northbound pickup truck, driven by 26-year old Shawn Hoerth of Fond du Lac, had crossed the centerline and
struck a southbound semi. Hoerth was ejected from the truck and was pronounced
dead at the scene. He was reportedly not wearing his seat belt. 

The driver of
the semi, 39-year old Mohamed Ahmed of Nashville,
Tennessee
, was not injured. 

Highway
45 was closed between Mink Road
and Eagle Road
for about seven hours as the scene was investigated. That crash remains under
investigation.
