Nationwide Recall Issued for El Monterey “Breakfast Wraps”

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service says Texas-based
Ruiz Food Products is recalling 246,514 pounds of frozen breakfast wraps nationwide
after some of the products may be contaminated with small rocks. The products
being recalled are “El Monterey Egg, Potato, Bacon & Cheese Sauce Breakfast
Wraps”, and were produced on January 17th and 18th of
this year – with “Best if Used By” dates of 1/17/2020 and 1/18/2020 and lot
codes 19017 and 19018. The company problem was discovered Friday when the
company informed the USDA of three consumer complaints of foreign material in
the product. At least one potential injury was associated with consuming the
product. People who have purchased the product are encouraged to throw them out
or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. See more details about the recall here.
