Natural Beauty Council Awards Presented

The Natural Beauty Council gave out 11 awards last night during the Fond du Lac County Board meeting to properties and 4-H clubs for beautification efforts. Among the historic properties were the 1905 historic home of Jon and Sarah Brinkley on East Division Street in Fond du Lac, the Marie Uttendorfer 1889 historic home in Oakfield, the 1900 Rose-Eld Farms in Rosendale, the 1880’s St. Paul’s Cathedral in Fond du Lac, the 1864 historic home of the Sertich Family on County Highway K in Fond du Lac and 1929 historic structure that now houses Trinity Restaurant in Fond du Lac. Renovation efforts that received awards included the Fond du Lac River Walk bike path at Oak and Western in Fond du Lac, Harbor Haven Health & Rehabilitation, and the Theisen Nature Area on Mequon Avenue in Fond du Lac. Two 4-H clubs, The Welcome 4-H Club in Eden and Green Valley 4-H Club in Fond du Lac got awards for gardening and landscaping efforts. The Natural Beauty Council and awards were established in 1968.
