Navarro Not Competent To Stand Trial At This Time

A judge ordered Monday that the man accused of killing a motorcyclist in Fond du Lac County last year, take medication in an effort to become competent to stand trial.

Judge Timothy Van Akkeren issued the order Monday, in the case against 28-year old Daniel Navarro, who is charged with first degree intentional homicide with a hate crime enhancer in the crash last July that took the life of Phillip Theissen.

Navarro told FDL County Sheriff’s Deputies he intended to strike the motorcyclist because he was white, and that white people and Caucasian people had been the cause of many problems in his life. The accident occurred near Winnebago Dr. and Taycheedah Way. Theissen was struck by Navarro’s truck and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. No trial date has been set.
