NCHA Moves Start of Conference Play to 2021

The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) is moving
its conference games to 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The league made the announcement Wednesday, saying in a
statement that the “difficult decision was made in order to protect the health
and safety of student-athletes, coaches, staff and administration, their
families and broader campus and local communities.”

The conference schedule will be adjusted to begin in
January, based on state and local public health officials, along with NCAA and
institutional guidance. Member schools will have the opportunity to have
practices, training and conditioning, and the possibility of non-conference
games.

Both Marian University Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams
compete in the NCHA.
