Neenah-Menasha Fire Department Pays Tribute To 9-11

18 years seems like a lifetime for many. For many, who weren’t even born 18 years ago, they have no real recollection of what happened. Still, for many, September 11, 2001 is a date they will never forget. Today, many people across the globe remember the victims of the 9-11 attacks that happened across the country. The Neenah-Menasha Fire Department is paying tribute to the nearly 3000 people who lost their lives that day. The Department has installed a Memorial Flag. It’s 10 feet tall and five feet wide, and represents the “never forget” spirit that arose after 9-11. The flag has a metal cutout of the New York skyline and the Twin Towers, while also representing the merger of the Neenah and Menasha departments with old fire hoses from both as the stripes of the flag.
