New Details Released In Fatal, Multi Vehicle, Multi crash Incident On I-41 Sunday

The Wisconsin State Patrol has released information on the multi vehicle, multi crash situation that happened on Interstate 41 on the north side of Appleton Sunday.

Shortly before 3:30 PM a driver that was northbound rolled their vehicle near 441 and needed to be extricated from their vehicle.

The driver sustained serious injuries and was ultimately arrested for operating while intoxicated.

In the slowdown for this crash, another serious crash happened in the area of 41 and Ballard Road.

This crash resulted in an ejection of a motorist. A pregnant woman driving that vehicle, lost her unborn child in the crash.

She was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

A medical helicopter transported her male passenger away from the crash.

Several more crashes occurred on both the north and southbound sides of the highway after this, including another serious injury crash involving five vehicles.

A 17-year-old female was reported to have serious injuries in this crash and another patient was flown from this scene to a hospital.

It is reported that a person was killed in this crash.

Authorities decided to shut down the highway in both directions to avoid more crashes and to allow emergency workers to to safely work the crash scenes.

Both sides of the highway were reopened to traffic at 10 PM.
