New FDL Police K9 Team Introduced

The Fond du Lac Police Department’s new K9 team was introduced to the public Tuesday afternoon shortly before hitting the streets for the first time. Officer Charles Beckford and K9 Rony recently completed their four week training program. Rony’s purchase was made possible by an $11,500 donation from Vince and Bekki Kuber. For the family it’s the third K9 they’ve donated to law enforcement. The late Marie Kuber donated K9 Addie to the Lake Winnebago Area MEG Unit and the recently retired Grendel to the Fond du Lac Police Department. Vince Kuber says police dogs can make a difference in the community. Police Chief Bill Lamb says Rony will build on the strong tradition of K9’s at the police department, which included Grendel and the late K9 Storm. Officer Beckford has been with the police department for 11 years.
