New Poll Claims Majority Favored “Safer At Home” Extension

A majority of Wisconsinites
approved of the extension of the Governor’s Safer At Home orders before they
were quashed by the State Supreme Court. Wisconsin Professional Police
Association Director Jim Palmer says their polling also showed that the same majority
of people disapproved of the protests.

“I think it’s clear
that while the protests represent the legitimate frustration that many people
across the state have, it’s clear that there is a very equally legitimate
silent majority as it relates how the state is protecting its citizens.”

The polling done by St.
Norbert College also shows that a majority of the state wants to see more
protections for emergency services workers, including hazard pay and increased
workers compensation coverage.
