New Principal Named At Rosenow Elementary

The Fond du Lac School District announced that Matt Wolfert will be
recommended to the Board of Education as the new principal for Rosenow Elementary School starting in the 2021-22 school year.

Wolfert is currently the Dean of Students and PBIS Internal Site Coordinator at Franklin Elementary School in the Appleton Area School District. He succeeds Principal Mike Mockert, who announced his intention to retire at the end of the current school after serving as the principal of Rosenow for the past 10 years.

“It is important to me that all students know that their successes will be celebrated, they will be encouraged to try their best, and that they are valued and have a special place in our school,” said Wolfert. “I look forward to building strong relationships with you as we work together to ensure the learning, safety and emotional growth of every child.”

Wolfert received a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Carroll University. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. Wolfert began his educational career as an Instructional Coach with the US Peace Corps in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. He then taught second and third grade at Houdini Elementary School for three years. During that time, he pursued active leadership roles by participating in curriculum work groups and then serving as the Summer School Coordinator for Johnston and Jefferson Elementary Schools.
