New School Board President Looks Forward To Ongoing Work Ahead

The Fond du Lac School Board met earlier this week, and before the board jumped into a full agenda, they voted to decide who would be the new Board President, among others.

Mark Henschel was elected Board President, and told KFIZ News it’s an exciting time.

“I’m looking forward to welcoming the new board members, brining them up to speed on our progress, and the ongoing work we have ahead of us a district.”

Henschel also said keeping the momentum going will be key.

“One of the goals I have is maintaining the the positive energy our board has shown in the last year, with supporting Dr. Fleig (School District Superintendent), on our school district initiatives to improve culture, student engagement, and academic achievement.

One of the biggest projects in the very near future that Henschel and the rest of the board will tackle is the moving forward of the Sports Complex, including a turf field located at Fondy High School, that’s been proposed.

The board is expected to make a decision on the architectural and engineering firm for the turf field at their next scheduled meeting.
