New Symptoms Now Associated With COVID-19, Says County Health Officer

The Fond du Lac County Health Department recorded 59 people in the county that were tested for COVID-19 on Thursday, with the numbers showing 86 confirmed cases – 15 of which are considered “active”. Public Health Officer Kim Mueller continues to encourage people who are experiencing even mild symptoms to contact the health department to see if getting tested is the right path to take.

Mueller explains there continue to be three main symptoms, but others have emerged. “We have seen fever, cough and shortness of breath as the most common symptoms. But we also are seeing patients just feeling tired, achy and experiencing muscle pain. Another common symptom we have now seen in many patients is the loss of smell or taste.”

Mueller says people can call 844-225-0147 for a free screening by a health professional to see if getting a test for COVID-19 is necessary.
