Newly-Renovated Pavilion Opens In Lakeside Park

With sun-splashed Lake Winnebago as the backdrop, the ribbon was cut on the renovated Lakeside Park Pavilion Thursday. City Manager Joe Moore, City Council President Kay Miller and dozens of others gathered to take in the recently completed renovation.

The building was originally set to be torn down and replaced, with a price tag of $3.3 million. But with a $50,000 donation from Excel Engineering as well as a redesign plan to renovate and expand, the total price for completion of the pavilion came in at $1.3 million.

The new building also features central air, new and improved bathrooms, and plenty of windows to enjoy all that Lakeside Park and Lake Winnebago has to offer. The building opens just in time for Walleye Weekend, set to get underway next Friday-Sunday in Lakeside Park.
