NFDL Arson Suspect Bound Over For Trial

The 37-year-old North Fond du Lac man suspected of setting his former home on fire this past July has been bound over for trial. Joseph Paolasini was in Fond du Lac County Court for a preliminary hearing Thursday. According to the criminal complaint the home he owned at 1011 Wisconsin Avenue had been foreclosed on. He told North Fond du Lac Police and a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Detective he had gone to the home on July 18th to retrieve his mail. Power and gas to the home had been shut off and weather was not a factor in the fire that damaged the home. Investigators learned through text messages he sent to a former girlfriend that Paolasini may have been suicidal and the last message he sent her minutes before the fire started stated, “Time to go make some headlines. See you on the flip side beautiful.” According to the complaint he has issues with depression and alcohol.
