NFDL Man Bound Over For Trial On Negligent Homicide Charges

The 33-year-old North Fond du Lac man charged with negligent homicide for a fatal accident on I-41 has been bound over for trial. Travis Wollersheim was recently in Fond du Lac County Court for a preliminary hearing. Charges stem that accident last year that killed a 26-year-old man and 8-year-old boy from Neenah. According to the criminal complaint Wollersheim was going 68 miles an hour when his SUV ran into the back of a car that was behind a stopped semi on I-41 between the Johnson and Military Road exits in Fond du Lac on June 22nd of 2016. Traffic had stopped due to construction. Wollersheim, a passenger in his car, and the 24-year-old Neenah woman driving the other car were injured in the crash, but two passengers in the car were killed. The investigation determined Wollersheim did not have alcohol or drugs in his system and was not on his cell phone when the collision occurred. He told investigators he was looking into his passenger side mirror because he planned to take an exit when he looked up and saw the car in front of him had stopped.
