NFDL School Board Approves Preliminary Budget

The North Fond du Lac School Board this week approved the preliminary budget for the new school year. District Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says they had to freeze staff wages and employees will be paying a larger share for their health insurance, but the real thing that helped them balance their budget is an increase in enrollment, which means an increased revenue limit. He says they have 60 new students and they had 15 more students coming into the district through open enrollment rather than going out. Sadoff says they actually hope to have more revenue to replace things they had to trim. Sadoff says it’s unfortunate that they can’t have a budget in place in July when new school years start, but that the way the system works now. The annual meeting for the district is on Monday, October 19th with the school board approving the final budget the following week.
