NFDL School Board Approves Preliminary Budget

The North Fond du Lac School Board this week approved the District’s preliminary budget for the 2017-18 School Year. It will include an increase in the tax rate of 81 cents to $10.45. That mill rate could change depending on final equalized aid and property values, which they won’t have until their annual meeting on October 15th. Some of that increase is attributable to the $29.5 million referendum. But the district is also increasing staff pay by almost 3 percent, and is hiring additional staff to teach the additional students the district is picking up. District Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says they will have 74 more students than they had last year. There total headcount is 1,429 students. The North Fond du Lac School Board won’t give their final approval to the budget and tax levy until late October.
