NFDL Second Ambulance Will Do Non Emergency Transfers

The North Fond du Lac Village Board will allow their second ambulance to transfer non-emergency patients as a way of generating additional revenue. Village Administrator Chuck Hornung says the Board talked about it a couple of weeks ago and since then they’ve talked with towns they provide services to and the City of Fond du Lac who they have a mutual aid agreement with. He says no one had any objections. The Village has two ambulances and their primary ambulance hands the majority of their calls. He says the second ambulance would still handle 9-1-1 calls when their primary ambulance isn’t available. He says the transfers would be to St Agnes Hospital or clinics like the two they have in the Northgate Business Park.  Hornung says last year their second ambulance only had 46 calls all year long. He says their goal is to start doing transfers by July 1st.
