NFDL Teacher Named Outstanding Educator

Kurt Wismer, a Business and Information Technology teacher at the School District North Fond du Lac was honored and awarded the Wisconsin Business Education Association Outstanding Educator award during the convention annual award luncheon on October 17. Kurt was nominated by Wisconsin Business and Information Technology teachers and an awards committee evaluated the nominations.

 

Wismer is a Business, Marketing and Information Technology (IT) teacher as well as a Google Certified Teacher and Google Education Trainer. This is his 13th year serving in education. As a Business, Marketing and IT teacher at North Fond du Lac School District, Kurt uses technology throughout his curriculum to create durable learning experiences for his students that are both rigorous and transformative as they prepare for their careers and continued education. Kurt has been part of the technology team at other schools that has lead the school to a 1:1 environment and has provided considerable training and support in that initiative. 

 

Kurt has also worked extensively in business and industry serving in a management and general contracting role with a family business focusing on custom home building and renewable energy provisions.


Kurt is just finishing his master’s degree at UW-Stout in Career and Technical Education. Kurt is also part of the EdTech Sages (www.edtechsages.com) team of Google Certified Teachers and Trainers from Northeast Wisconsin providing training and consulting to professionals seeking pedagogy and educational technology support.


Kurt is incredibly honored and humbled to be awarded this distinction by his peers in the state and would like to thank all those that have worked with and supported him.  He currently serves as the Marketing Director for WEBIT.
