NFDL Village Board Approves Participation In Virtual Building Plans

The North Fond du Lac Village Board this week approved plans to participate in a virtual building with the Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation. Village Administrator Chuck Hornung says they have been working with Keller Builders to find a spot in their business park for the building. He says they went through wetlands delineation and steps necessary for building a 50,000 square foot structure. The FCEDC and Village will split the $25,000 cost for design of the building and the permitting, which he says is more of an investment in the potential for a new business in the business park. He says the money comes back to the Village through tax collections once a business builds the building and is operating in it. He says the appeal of a virtual building is that it is already designed and has gone through the permitting process and other initial steps shaving about 4 to 5 months off the construction process. He says they can even show a virtual representation of the building to the interested business. Photo a Keller Builders rendering.
