No Injuries Reported In Morning Duplex Fire

A Monday morning duplex fire in Fond du Lac remains under investigation. Fond du Lac Fire Rescue was called out Monday morning (January 11, 2021) to the 200 block of 6^th St. for a reported house on fire. Upon arrival crews found a fire located in the ceiling of the second floor of a residential duplex. The fire was extinguished, but not before it caused moderate damage inside the unit, with the duplex deemed uninhabitable.  Fire crews stayed on the scene to work on determining the cause of the fire although it does not appear to be suspicious. The City of Fond du Lac Building inspector was called to the scene along with Alliant Energy. There were no injuries reported as a result of the blaze. Fond du Lac PD assisted at the scene. FDLFR crews will be out later today canvassing the neighborhood handing out fire safety materials to area residents.
