No One Seriously Injured In FDL Head On Collision

Update:

Fond du Lac Police have released some details about an accident at Military and Pioneer Tuesday morning. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says a 2003 Chevy pickup truck was going south on South Military Road and failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn onto Pioneer Road. The truck hit a 1999 Volkswagen Beetle that was heading north on Military. The driver of the VW Beetle was taken to St. Agnes Hospital. The roadway was blocked for about 35 minutes.

No one was seriously injured in a two-vehicle head on accident at Military and Pioneer in Fond du Lac Tuesday morning. Fire Chief Peter O’Leary says they got the call at 6:41 a.m. He says there was an earlier report that one of the vehicles was on fire, but that wasn’t true. He says two people were checked out for minor injuries. One of the drivers was taken to St. Agnes Hospital. O’Leary says head on accidents are typically serious, but the two vehicles involved in this accident weren’t going that fast. He says there was heavy front end damage to both vehicles and traffic had to be rerouted in the area. There had been several inches of snow overnight and then rain moved in.
