No Reason For Delay In Wolf Hunting Season, Says Farm Bureau

Wisconsin’s largest farm organization accuses the Department of Natural Resources of dragging its feet on wolf management.  Tyler Wenzlaff with Wisconsin Farm Bureau says there’s no reason to delay a hunting season until next winter.

“They had plenty of time since last year to develop their outreach plan and execute it. And we are of the opinion that that should have happened, and can still happen yet this winter.”

The gray wolf was removed from the Endangered Species List in October, and officially delisted January 4th. The DNR’s policy board announced Tuesday that it will meet Friday to address a demand from Republicans in the legislature, to begin a hunt immediately.
