No Shots Fired In FDL Standoff

A standoff incident in Fond du Lac at 900 Security Drive ended without incident. Police took a despondent 24-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman into custody. SWAT crisis negotiators talked the two out of the residence. Assistant Police Chief Steve Thiry says the incident began shortly after 5:30 this morning when they got a tip from a crisis hotline. Police were informed the man may have a handgun. The SWAT team was called in at 7:17 a.m. and they convinced the man to turn himself in at 8:55 this morning. He says no shots were fired and no one was hurt. Thiry didn’t know if any weapons were recovered from the apartment.
