Numbers Released from Holiday “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” Campaign

Fond du Lac County area Law Enforcement agencies made 20
arrests for OWI during the holiday “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign
which wrapped up last week.


The holiday campaign ran from December 13th
through New Year’s Day, and while the Drive Sober campaign focused on cutting
down on impaired drivers, officers also issued citations and made arrests for a
number of other violations. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office said in a news
release that during the enforcement campaign, 320 citations were issued for
speeding, 72 for operating after revocation or suspension violations, 11 for
traffic sign or traffic light violations and six for safety belt violations.


Officers also made five drug arrests, three felony arrests –
two for fleeing/eluding an officer and one for possession of heroin with intent
to deliver – and two arrests for outstanding warrants.
