Agnes Mary Stephanie

Agnes Mary Stephanie, 90, a resident of St. Peter, WI, passed away October 28, 2021 at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home, Mt. Calvary.

She was born March 18, 1931 in Fond du Lac, a daughter of the late Raymond and Olive (Braun) Stephanie.

On June 26, 1954 she married Orville G. Freund at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in 2015.

Agnes attended St. Peter grade school. She helped on her parents’ farm. Agnes worked at Infant Socks in Fond du Lac before she married Orville. She had several part time jobs while also taking care of her children and household.

Agnes was a member of Holy Family Parish and Christian Mother’s Society. Agnes enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved gardening, baking, fishing, golfing, bowling and playing board games and cards.

Survivors include three daughters, Beth (Jeff) Phillips of Kewaskum, Cathy Krupp of Phillips, WI, and Sue (Gary) Steiner of Blanchardville, WI, three sons, Gerard “Cub” (Donna) Freund, Eugene “Geno” (Laurie) Freund all of St. Peter, and Randy (Laurie) Freund of Mt. Calvary, fourteen grandchildren, Kyle and Kelsey Phillips, Keri Nelson, and Jacy (fiancé Christopher Jennings) Krupp, Justin, Sean (Kim) and Cole Steiner, Aaron (Becki) Freund, and Renee (Adam) Greer, Andy Freund, Jackie (Parker) Hanson, Nicholas (Nai) Freund, Jess (Grant) Nadler, and Kellie (Keary) Krupp, and  14 great-grandchildren.

She is further survived by sisters, Joan Schmitz of St. Peter, Esther Freund of Johnsburg, and a brother, Roman (Leann) Stephanie of Idaho, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Aaron Steiner, and brothers Herbie and Martin (Anna Marie) Stephanie.

Visitation: Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021 at St. Peter Catholic Church, N8079 Church Road, in the Village of St. Peter, from 10:00 to 11:45 AM.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Catholic Church on Tuesday at Noon following visitation. Agnes will be laid to rest in a private burial in the Parish Cemetery.
