Alex J. Vandenhouten

Alex Joseph Vandenhouten, age 16, of Potter, died on November 17, 2018 at his family hunting cabin in Marinette, Wisconsin.  He was born on October 27, 2002 son of Adam and Sheilah (Doyle) Vandenhouten.

Alex was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul where he had also attended school for many years.  He also attended Chilton Middle School, and Chilton High School.  With an outgoing personality, Alex was well regarded as a character who could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and a smile that ran from ear to ear brightening the lives and moments of everyone he came across.

Alex was a witty, kind hearted, and caring teenager who was a joy to be around.  He loved to crack a good joke, laugh, kid around, bug his brother and sister every once and while, and appreciated moments spent with his family and friends.  Alex was funny and cared about everyone, no matter where they came from or their background.

Alex had a great passion for the outdoors, and was always excited to be out on the hunting land and cabin, fishing, or cruising the trails with the ATV’s.  Alex, like most teenagers, liked to play video games, but his heart was always focused on the great nature that was around him.

Although the outdoors and video games kept him occupied, Alex did dabble in games of Dungeons and Dragons and was a voracious reader who could easily get lost in a series of books.

Alex’s big heart and charming personality will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved him.  He will be especially missed by his parents, Adam and Sheilah; his sister, Ella Vandenhouten; his brother, Gus Vandenhouten; maternal grandparents, Bill (Sandy) Doyle and Sigrid Doyle and fiancé Bob Bosanic; paternal grandparents, Glenn and Candy Vandenhouten; uncles, Chris Doyle and Tony Vandenhouten and Jana; cousins: Sarah, Matthew, Jacob, Hope, and Justin.  Alex will be missed by many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul (Hilbert), Wisconsin.  Friends may call at Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W Main St, Chilton) on Tuesday, November 20, 2018  from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at church from 9 AM – 11 AM.
