Alice M. Dudarenke

Alice M. Dudarenke, 85, of Van Dyne, passed away on January 1, 2014 at the Hospice Home of Hope.  Alice was born in Kiel on March 1, 1928, a daughter of Andrew and Stella (Madigan) Schnell.

On January 16, 1949 Alice married Walter F. Dudarenke in Fredonia, WI.

Alice and her husband, Walter, were owner/operators of the Cheeseville Cheese Factory in Washington Co. and St. Killian Cheese Factory in Fond du Lac Co.  They retired from the cheese business in 1981.

In their retirement they often went to Florida for the winter.  Alice enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed New York City and the Broadway shows.  She liked to fish, especially in Florida.  Alice also liked to spend time looking at her flower gardens, watching birds and other animals in the yard. 

Alice is survived by Walter, her husband of 64 years; six children, Karen Kleinke of Van Dyne, Jean (Jim) Backhaus of Mt. Calvary, Charles (Chris) Dudarenke of Fond du Lac, Thomas (Kim) Dudarenke of Lomira, Gerald (Pat) Dudarenke of Rockledge FL and Jeffrey (Ruth) Dudarenke of Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Jared Backhaus, Jamie Dudarenke, Justin and Nicholas Dudarenke, Nicklous and Ashley Dudarenke, Matthew Dudarenke; brother, Jim (Margie) Schnell; sisters; Helen Kaderabek, Bernice Zielke, Gladys Paulson, Grace (Ed) Mikalofsky and Louise Thiel; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Schnell, Marie Schnell, Patricia Schnell and Betty (Don) Klein; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; faithful companion, Rockie. 

Preceding Alice in death are brothers, Joseph, John, Kenneth and Francis Schnell; brothers-in-law, Otto Kaderabek, Steven Zielke, Eugene Paulson, Wallace Thiel, Gustav Dudarenke, Erwin Dudarenke; sister-in-law, Erna Radtke.

Visitation:  Alice’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, on Saturday, January 4, 2014, from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM. 

Service: At 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, a Memorial Service of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Zacherl Funeral Home.  Entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
