Allen C. Wetzel

Allen C. Wetzel, 82, of Fond du Lac, died on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Clements Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee.

He was born on January 8, 1936, in Brandon, the son of Dale Tuel and Edith Wetzel. Allen was a graduate of Brandon High School, Class of 1954. He attended UW Fond du lac for 2 years. He served in the United States Army from 1954-56 and was stationed in Japan. He was a master marksman. On July 16, 1960, he married Ilona M. Toth at St. Louis Catholic Church in Fond du Lac.

Allen was a member of Holy Family Parish – Sacred Heart Church, and was a member of American Legion Post 210 in Waupun. He worked at A.C. Nielsen, Dunn & Brad Street, working later in various theaters in Branson, MO with Charlie Pride, Roy Clark, and Tony Orlando’s Theater. He later lived in West Palm Beach, FL. He loved camping, music, traveling to all 50 states, liked to shoot and target practice.

He is survived by his wife, Ilona Wetzel of Fond du Lac, his five children: Mark (Cathy) Wetzel in Lomira, Kim Wetzel of Fond du Lac, Allen L. Wetzel of Fond du Lac, Lana Lea Feyen of Fond du Lac, and Lori (Robert) Juedes of Fond du Lac; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Jonah Juedes and one sister, Helen.

VISITATION: Friends may call on Friday, November 23, 2018, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel, 31 East Division Street and again on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, 271 Fourth Street Way.

FUNERAL: Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish. Cremation has taken place.
