Alois “Ally” Schneider

Alois “Ally” Schneider, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 7th, 2018 at
his home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 24, 1930 in Mount
Calvary, the son of Victor and Frances (Halfman) Schneider. On November 23, 1957 he
married Bette Shea.
Ally served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955, primarily stationed in Germany. Ally was
employed at Mercury Marine for 42 years, retiring in 1990. He later worked for Anders
Auto Parts.
Ally was a member of Holy Family Catholic Community. He ushered, was chairman of
the church picnic for several years, served on the church council and was a member of
the Holy Name Society. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, member
of the Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75, and a prior member of the American
Legion in Mount Calvary.
Ally bowled in the Ledgeview Bowling League, golfed in the Mercury Marine League,
played softball for Hutter Construction and played Dartball for Badger Tire. He enjoyed
traveling to see his children and grandchildren, playing cards and reading.
Ally is survived by his wife, Bette; children, Barbara Lynch (Sherman Hayden) and her
children Angie (Ryan) Wright, Patrick Molitor, Lee Schneider and daughters Carlee and
Holly, Patti (Keven) Grunwald and their children, Amanda, Rebecca (Adam) Simon and
children, McKenzie Henry and Jackson Simon, Courtney Thull and her children Maddy
Grunwald, Taylor and Katelynn Thull and two brothers John (Marian) and Victor (Mary
Lou); two sisters Mary White and Patricia Pittler and four sisters-in-law Carol Schneider,
Marie Schneider, Holly Shea and Monica (Fran) Roach; brother-in-law Fr. James Shea
C.Ss.R., as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ally was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jo; his parents, Victor and Frances; his
mother and father-in-law Sheridan and Mary Shea; siblings Marie (Oral) Krug, Gregor,
Norbert (Evelyn), Olive (Jerry) Richter, Martha (Albert) Laudolff; an infant sister;
Edward (Romilda), Anthony (Sue), Frances (Willard) Stubbe, Leo (twin) and James
(Judy); brothers-in-law Joe Shea, Lee White and Robert Pittler.
Visitation: Ally’s family welcomes relatives and friends for a time of visitation on Sunday,
August 12, 2018 at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, from 3:00
to 6:00 PM and again, on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church,
271 4th Street Way, Fond du Lac, from 9:00 to 10:45 AM
Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 13, 2018 at
Holy Family Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Military honors will be at the church.

The family would like to thank Hospice Hope, Froedtert Hospital, and all the nurses for
their help in caring for Ally. He will be missed by many.
