Alvin Hollister Boerson

Alvin
Hollister Boerson, 80, of Waupun, passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at his
home.

 

Alvin
was born December 22, 1933 to Bert and Edna TerBeest Boerson in the town of
Alto. Alvin attended Waupun High School. He was in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959.
On October 23, 1959 he was united in marriage to Ann Streekstra at East
Friesland. They were blessed with three children: Tom (Gina), Christie Steger,
and Jeremy (Kietra); a step-grandson, Dakota (Alexis) Fadness; and a step-great-granddaughter,
Marcy. He spent most of his life on the family farm with his wife and children.
In his later years he worked for East Central Breeders and drove bus for Head
Start. He was an avid farm toy collector and a lover of Ford tractors and Chevy
trucks.

 

Alvin
is survived by his wife, Ann; their children; a sister, Josie Towne,
sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Annette Hopp, Harold (Helen) Streekstra,
Connie (Bruce) Campbell, Gerald (Rhonda) Streekstra, Don (Sue) Streekstra, Dennis
(Mary Kay) Streekstra, Kathy (Elton) Kleist; and other relatives and friends.

 

Alvin
was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Henry Boerson; sisters: Maggie
Damsteegt and Erna Kamphuis; a grandson, Austin James Steger; a niece Elsie
Lent; and a step-grandson, Anthony Alvin.

 

Funeral
services for Alvin Boerson will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 11
a..m at Alto Reformed Church with Pastor Ted Medema and Pastor Ted Lindman
officiating. Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery. Friends and relatives may
call on the family on Monday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 5-8
p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
