Alvina “Grandma” R. Stahmann

Alvina “Grandma” R. Stahmann, 88, of Van Dyne, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac, twelve days after her husband, Arthur, went to his eternal home.  After 66 years of working together overcoming all of life’s obstacles, they couldn’t be apart and she needed to be back at his side.

She was born on February 25, 1925, in the Town of Lamartine, a daughter of George J. and Rosa L. Mueller Smith.

On May 14, 1947, she married Arthur J.W. Stahmann.

Alvina was a member of Church of Peace, Fond du Lac

She is survived by three children:  Sandy (Dave) Wightman of Fond du Lac, Stanley (Karen) Stahmann of Van Dyne, and Stephen Stahmann of Fond du Lac; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur, on May 10, 2013; three sisters and six brothers: William, Dorothea Amrhein, Fredrick, Julius, Carl, Eraina, Chester, Walter, and Mabel Erickson; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Private services were held at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, with entombment at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.

Since the recent loss of Art, all the love and support from our family, friends, and colleagues through your generosity, thoughts and prayers will carry us through as we now mourn the loss of grandma.
