Anthony “Tony” Paul Flanders

Anthony
“Tony” Paul Flanders, 50, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 12, 2014

from pancreatic cancer, in Milwaukee, WI.
He was born in Fond du Lac, WI,
June 22, 1963, son to William and Dorothy (DelMarcelle) Flanders.

After
graduation from St. Mary’s Springs High School in 1981, Tony enrolled in Cosmetology School
in Milwaukee, WI. He began his career as a hair stylist at
the Janice Salon in the Pfister Hotel. Six years later he decided to follow his
dream of living and working in New
York City
. Tony worked in several upscale salons in Manhattan. He especially
enjoyed his years at the renowned Peter Coppola Salon. One of his memorable
roles was to do the “make overs” for celebrities and audience
participants for the TV show “The View”. Tony had many clients who
performed for stage and film.

After 15
years in New York City,
and having experienced the tragedy of September 11, 2001, Tony returned to WI.
He found the Midwestern atmosphere a refreshing retreat from the frenetic pace
of NYC.  He enjoyed spending as much time
as possible at a cabin on a peaceful prairie in Western
Wisconsin
.

Settling in Milwaukee afforded him
the opportunity to open his own salon “Tony’s Place” and to be near
his mother and family again. To quote a former NY client “Tony was a wonderful
guy who made it to the very top of his field in the toughest city in the world,
who still kept the sincerity, warmth, and gorgeous smile he brought from
Wisconsin.”

Friends,
family and clients will greatly miss this kind and gentle soul.

Tony is survived
