Arlene F. Pribbernow

Arlene F. (Slim) Pribbernow, age 84, of New Holstein, died on July 16, 2022, at Edenbrook of Fond du Lac. She was born on March 21, 1938, daughter of the late Harry Wissbroecker and Agnes Wissbroecker-Walentowski. On June 17, 1958, she married Donald “Butch” Pribbernow and they were married almost 40 years before his passing in 1998.

Arlene loved anything Packers. Brett Favre was her favorite player and she looked forward to football season all year long. Arlene worked for Chilton Metal Works for many years before her retirement, but deep down she was a woman of the outdoors. She liked spending her time hunting, fishing, going on her fishing trips to Canada, and at her cabin in Eland. She was very proud that she had a conceal carry permit. Her favorite color was purple and she collected pigs – she had at least 500 different knick-knacks and figurines. She enjoyed crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, and putting jigsaw puzzles together. She cherished the time she shared with her friends at the New Holstein Senior Center playing cards and attending luncheons.

Arlene is survived by her siblings: Ervin (Elyn) Wissbroecker, Harvey (Loretta) Wissbroecker, Herby Wissbroecker, JoAnne (Gary) Lucia, Joe (Marilyn) Wissbroecker, June Wissbroecker (Stu Fish), and Bonnie (Bill) Zelechowski; a sister-in-law: Eve Pribbernow-Horzewski; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; other family and friends.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents: Harry and Agnes; Donald’s parents: Aletha Pribbernow-Hartleben and Ray Pribbernow; her niece: Jill Loing; and in-laws: Mary Lou Wissbroecker, Sharon Wissbroecker, Sam Pribbernow, and Charlie Pribbernow.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the funeral home on the day of the service. Friends and family will have an opportunity to share stories and memories of Arlene during the service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Edenbrook of Fond du Lac for their care, compassion, and kindness to Arlene and her family.
