Arlinda Soerens

After a hard fought wrestle with illness, Arlinda Ann Soerens
(Helmer) passed away at Saint Agnes Hospital after complications due to her
battle with cancer. She went peacefully, after visits from her family and
friends, on the morning of Monday November 14, 2016. She is survived by her
husband, David Soerens and her son, Ross (Abbie Jo) Soerens.

Arlinda was born to Harold Helmer and Virgiline Helmer July 28th,
1952 in the city of Sheboygan, WI. Arlinda grew up in Oostburg, WI with her two
brothers Scott Helmer and Val Helmer and her sister Carol Erdmann (Helmer). She
attended Oostburg High School, class of 1970 and graduated from Holy Family
Nursing School, class of 1975.

Arlinda helped heal and care for the sick through her nearly 30
years as a RN. Arlinda worked many places and touched many lives, but none as
impactful as her years working for Agnesian and Saint Francis Home, as well as
Nazareth Heights. She helped teach the CNA class through MPTC, which enabled her to share the
wealth of knowledge she had accumulated through her many years as a nurse.

Nothing made Arlinda smile more than nature and family. She spent
countless hours outside, loved to hike and camp, and spent as much time with
her family as she could. Before she got too sick to travel, Arlinda spent a
week in Niagara Falls with her family.

Visitation:
Arlinda’s family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, November 18th,
at the Saint Francis Home Chapel, 33 Everett St., Fond du Lac, from 5:00 to
5:45 PM.

Service: A
celebration of Arlinda’s life will follow the visitation in the chapel on
Friday, at 6:00 PM. Cremation has taken place.

The family would like to thank Agnesian, Saint Agnes Hospital, The
Agnesian Cancer Center and the countless staff who helped both build up her
morale and heal her. The family would also like to thank all those friends and
family who continued to support her over the span of her time of illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made
directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Zacherl Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
