Armend E. Zastrow
Armend E. Zastrow, age 85, of Chilton, died on December 7, 2020, at Century Ridge Assisted Living in Chilton. He was born March 22, 1935, son of the late Edward and Ida Zastrow.
Armend started working at Aluminum Specialty shortly after high school and stayed beyond the company becoming Foley, finally ending his career after over 40 years. His loyalty and sense of commitment extended into his private life, lending to his being secretary for the Thursday Night Men’s Bowling League for 49 years before his health put an end to it, as well as being a part of a group of four that went hunting up north every year for 30 years. They mostly took the trip to play cards and enjoy the company. Even recently, despite not bowling anymore, he joined the men every week just to play Sheepshead.
Armend held dearly to his relationships in the world with his friends and family. 7 Angels Restaurant was his hangout so he could see his friends and have the annual family reunion with his “Sheboygan Bunch” cousins every January. His love of hunting led him to be a member of the Eastshore Hunting Club, and the sportsman in him made him a huge fan of the Wisconsin teams from college to the professionals. He cherished the relationships he had with his friends Dave Buelow, Willy Bennin, the late “Schmeed”, as well as his niece and nephews, Dianna, Paul, Glenn, Richard, Wayne, and the late Terry and Brian. A very special friend, Midnight, was by his side when he passed away.
