Armond Braeger

Armond Carl William
Braeger, 85, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, January 9th, 2018 at St.
Francis Home.  He was born August 28,
1932 in the Town of Eldorado, the son of George and Nora (Nitchke) Braeger. On
February 27, 1954, Armond married his sweetheart and lifetime love of 60 years,
Burnette Albrecht at Salem United Methodist Church.  Burnette preceded Armond in death in 2016.


Armond spent
his early years on the farm. At the age of seven, George (his dad) passed away
followed by Loretta (his sister) when he was 10. Shortly after his dad died he
left the Eldorado elementary school he continued in Fond du Lac into high
school.


From 1952 to
1954, Armond served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, 28th
Division 229 – Headquarters (artillery sec), Guns 105. His competence,
reliability and story-telling saved him from a few mischievous acts. He later
received his Associate’s Degree in Mechanics. Armond worked for Fond du Lac City
Line Bus in 1959, Dick Brothers Bakery in 1971, B&B Trucking and Sadoff
Iron and Metal.


Armond never
shied away from hard work or lending a helping hand. The rest of his leisure
time was spent with his hunting dogs, his fishing pole, visiting and sharing
stories. He was a part of the Auxillary, North Fond du Lac Rod & Gun Club,
Winnebago Alliance, Eagles Club of Fond du Lac, Ducks Unlimited, Oakfield Conservation
Club and Possum Lodge.


Armond is
survived by four sons, Dennis (Sue) Braeger, Eldorado, Dave Braeger, Fond du
Lac, Ken (Renee) Braeger, Eldorado and Kevin (Lisa) Braeger, Brownsville; two
daughters, Christine Braeger, Colorado and Deb (Jeff) Huebschman, Amherst; 11
grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.


Armond is
further survived by one brother Derald (Barbara) Sommers, in-laws Marion and
Lyneis Kohlman and other relatives and friends.


Armond was
preceded in death by his wife, Burnette (Albrecht) Braeger, his sister Loretta
(Braeger) Sommers and stepfather, Roy Nachtrab.


Visitation:  Armond’s family will receive relatives and
friends at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E Division Street, Fond du Lac, on Monday,
January 15, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:45 PM.


Service:  A funeral service will be celebrated after
visitation, at the Zacherl Funeral Home, at 7:00 PM with the Rev. Rom Emanuel officiating.  Private entombment will take place at Shrine
of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.


The family
