Arnold M. Schmolesky

Arnold M. Schmolesky was
called to eternal life on Friday, August 14, 2015, at Kindred Hearts, Fond du
Lac, at the age of 83.

 

He was born on June 23, 1932,
in Fond du Lac, a son of Henry A. and Elsie T. Salzwedel Schmolesky.  Arnold attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School in
North Fond du Lac and graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy in 1950.

 

Arnold served with the United
States Army from October of 1952 to October of 1954.

 

On July 7, 1956, he married
Yvonne M. Pieper.  They raised their four
children in the home where Arnold grew up in North Fond du Lac. 

 

Arnold worked for the Soo
Line Railroad as a welder.  Most of his
working years, he served as a foreman and troubleshooter for the Leach Company
in Oshkosh.

 

Arnold was a lifelong member
of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was active as a church council member, usher,
groundskeeper, choir member, and finance committee member.  For many years, he served on the North Fond
du Lac Volunteer Fire Department.  He enjoyed
golfing and gardening, as well as talking with his lifelong friends, Bob Hinn
and Louie Kemnitz.  Most of all he
enjoyed spending time with his family, including his sister, Dorothy, and
especially his grandchildren.

 

He is survived by his wife,
Yvonne; four children:  Deb (Jim) Bakken and
children, Jeremy and Donna; Dan (Terri) Schmolesky and children, Eiraina,
Sienna, Aniesia, Kireena, Luchea, and Trajan; Dawn Schaefer and children,
Logan, Jordan, and Lindsey; Diane Kieckbusch and special friend, Doug; and his
sister, Dorothy Schmolesky.

 

He was preceded in death by
his parents, and son-in-law, Dave Kieckbusch.

 

The funeral service will be
held at noon, on Friday, August 21, 2015, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1010 Adams
Avenue, North Fond du Lac, with Rev. Thomas Behnke and Rev. Michael Kampman
officiating.

 

The visitation will be on
Friday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

 

Entombment will be in the
Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park with the American Legion
Trier-Puddy Post 75 conducting military rites.

 

Memorials may be directed to
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Winnebago Lutheran Academy.
