Arthur ‘Art’ A. Washick

Arthur ‘Art’ A. Washick, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at The Kathy Hospice.  He was born on December 1, 1937 to Arthur and Lillian (nee Geminden).  Art graduated from West Bend High School Class of ’56 and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956-1960.  He married Rosemary L. (nee Hanke) on October 13, 1962 in Fond du Lac.  He worked as a senior analyst for All State Insurance for 25 years, and previously worked at Ted Lauck Chevrolet for many years.  He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, NASCAR, outdoor activities, camping, traveling, and going up north.  Above all, Art enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He was a member of the West Bend American Legion Post and the NRA.

Art is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary; cherished children, Clint (Sally), and Lori (Todd) Kerecman; adored grandchildren, Andrew and Ashly Kerecman, Jessica (Justin) Martin, Brent, Aaron, and Shane Washick; great-granddaughter, Laila Martin; sister-in-law, Sandy Washick, Wanda Schuh, Sylvia (Delmar) Petrie, Eugene (Bernice) Hanke, Eunice (John Butsford) Scheberl, Roseanna (Clyde Stokes) Palkovich, Angie (Howard) Scheberl, Darlene Bauer, Lloyd (Donna) Hanke, and Dave Hanke.  He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relative and many dear friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary (Ronald) Kocher; brother, David Washick; brothers-in-law, Eugene Schuh, Ray Palkovich, Denny Bauer, and former brother-in-law, Richard Scheberl. 

The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend (1420 W Paradise Drive) with Rev. Jim Hill presiding.  Military Honors will follow the service.  The visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday, November 17th from 12:00 PM until 2:45 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to Froedtert Hospital Neurology Department for Parkinson’s Research.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Samaritan Health Care Center, Kathy Hospice, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and Harvest Home for their special care and compassion.
