Beatrice M. Pickart

Beatrice M. Pickart, beloved mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother, age 89, of Fond du Lac, died peacefully, surrounded by her
family, on Sunday, October 26, 2014, at the Harbor Haven Nursing Home in Fond
du Lac, where she resided for the past 4 years.

The former Beatrice Walber was born on April 15, 1925, in Charlesburg, to the
late Joseph Walber and Germaine (Abler) Walber.

She attended Mount Calvary Grade School and St. Mary’s
Springs High School in Fond du Lac and took Art classes from Marion College and
painted a few pictures in the ‘70s & ‘80s that were displayed at local
restaurants in Fond du Lac.

On July 2nd, 1949, she married Laverne C. Pickart at Holy Cross Catholic Church
in Mt Calvary. They lived in Fond du Lac and Laverne preceded her in death on January
9th, 1970.


Beatrice was always proud of the fact that she was a niece of the Very Reverend
Fr. Cyprian Abler!


Before marriage Beatrice worked in New York as a secretary in a Government Job
and tried a little modeling. Then she worked as a Clerk Typist CAF2 at the
Great Lakes Naval Academy in Illinois. 
She was also employed with Veterans Administration in Milwaukee, Coney
Products, Damrow, Reed Shoe Store and McNess Co.

 

She enjoyed riding her bike all over town and was a member
of St. Patrick Church and Holy Family Catholic Parish. She was devoted to the
Blessed Virgin Mary. She also spoke out and wrote commentaries on politics as
her children were growing up.


Survivors include four children: Anthony (Debra) Pickart of Fond du Lac, Catherine
(Gary) Albrecht of Milwaukee, Mary (Michael Klapperich) Pickart of Fond du Lac
and Charles (Cynthia) Pickart of Illinois; 12 grandchildren: Joshua (Connie)
Pickart, Angela (Michael) Krause, Zachariah (Katrina) Pickart, Elizibeth
(Kenneth) Wilcox, Victoria Albrecht, Alaxandra Albrecht, Jack Albrecht, Amanda
(Jose) Gonzalez, Victor Klapperich, Michael (Annice) Klapperich, Adam Pickart
and Molly Pickart; five great-grandchildren: Rosalee Krause, Catherine &
Christian Gonzales and Beau & Cole Willcox. 
She is further survived by a twin brother, Alphonse Walber of Madison,
MS; two brothers-in-law Jerry Pickart of Mount Calvary and Don Blaylock of Fond
du Lac and two sisters-in-law Kathleen Johnson and Elsie Pickart both of Fond
du Lac.

 

Preceding her in death were her half-sister Alberta
Schladweiler and her twin brothers wife Marion Walber.

VISITATION: Beatrice’s family will
receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at
Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac.  There will also be visitation on Wednesday,
October 29th at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, Mt. Calvary from 9:15
to 10:45 a.m.

 

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11
a.m. on Wednesday, October 29th at St. Isidore the Parish-Holy Cross
Church, 308 County Road W, Mt. Calvary, 53057.


Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mt. Calvary.
