Bernice H. Resop

Bernice Helen Resop (Marquard) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 with family by her side. She was born April 21, 1926 in Howards Grove, the first child of Henry C. and Meta L. (Wolters) Marquard. She married Robert “Bob” C. Resop on June 5, 1948 in Fond du Lac. They shared 62 years together. He preceded her in death January 1, 2010. Bernice was a member of Church of Peace UCC.

Bernice not only raised eight children, she also babysat for many nieces, nephews, neighbors and family and friends. She loved to cook, baked some good cookies, sew, embroider, and have an occasional beer. She was always there for all of us and all her grandchildren. She listened and offered suggestions of how to fix the problem. She gave us guidance to help us grow up to be strong people.

Surviving Bernice are four daughters, Brenda (Ron) Roehl, Barbara (Elmer) Ditter, Betty Resop, Bonnie Resop and two sons, Richard “Budman” Resop and Randall (Brian Beyer) Resop. She is further survived by eight grandchildren, Mandy, Joe, Ryan, Jim, Jenny, Jake, Aleisha and Marc; three step-grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-great grandchildren; four sisters: Henrietta Scholten, Annette Marquard, Nancy (Bob) Dempsey, Janice Eberhardy and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death, her husband Bob, daughter, Beverly; son, Bob and granddaughter, Cammy; son-in-laws, John Coburn, Marty Clapper and Merle Post; brothers, Kenneth, Carl, and Jerome; sisters, Helen Altman, and Elaine Patt; inlaws: Hank Scholten, Marlene Marquardt, Joyce Marquard, Norman & Jean Resop, Delores & Darwin Emmer, Adrian & Alvin Grinde, Felix Jr & Joyce Resop, Clayton Resop, Virginia and Ray Bird, Gordy & Avis Resop, and other family members and her pet Pablo.

Private family services to be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory with Pastor Stephen Stepp officiating. Burial will be held at Ledgeview Memorial Park.
