Betty Lou Hernandez

Betty Lou
Ruth Hernandez, 80, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family,
on February 10th, 2017. She was born in Chicago, IL on April 15th,
1936, a daughter of Adolph and Marie (Zerbian) Lick. Betty married Alonzo
Hernandez on June 26th, 1954 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eden,
WI.

Betty
enjoyed reading, soap operas and visiting the casinos from time to time. She
was passionate about her family and loved taking care of her grandchildren.

Betty is
survived by her husband of 62 years, Alonzo; her children, Rick (Pam), Frank
(Bonnie), Jerry (Debbie), David (Denise) and Melissa Pieper; grandchildren,
Angela (Francisco) Rayes, Erik, Tony (special friend, Roxanne), Elana, Amanda,
Alyssa (special friend, Alex), Branden, Emily, Isabel; great-grandchildren,
Jacob Zivkovich, Abigail, Madison, Lyla, Tenley and Maylen. Betty is further
survived by her brother, Robert Lick, nieces, nephews and friends.

Betty was
preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Dorothy, Lois and Gloria, her
brothers, Harold, Richard, Dallas and Jerome and her sister-in-law and best
friend, Dolores.

Visitation:
Betty’s family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, February 16th,
2017 at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, from 5:00
to 6:45 PM.

Service: A
funeral service will be celebrated following visitation, at the funeral home,
on Thursday at 7:00 PM.

The family
would like to thank Dr. Strong and the doctors and staff at St. Agnes ICU and
St. Agnes Hospice of Hope-Home Care, Palliative Care and the girls at Adult Day
Services for their compassionate care of Betty.
