Beverly A. Preston

Beverly A. Preston, age 86, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, June 20, 2021, at Harbor Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center. Beverly was born on February 2, 1935, to Rudolph and Anna (Arbter) Bochek. She was born on a log cabin in Door County, WI. There was no running water nor electricity. This was in the Township of Sevastopol. Beverly was the youngest of five children.

Beverly attended SS Peter and Paul Catholic School through 8th grade and attended high school at Sevastopol Consolidated School. After high school, she attended and graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Oshkosh as an RN. She did mostly hospital nursing in Sturgeon Bay, Viroqua, Beaver Dam and finished her nursing career as a supervisor of BDCH-Lakeview.

On June 23, 1956, she married William “Bill” Preston at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Institute, WI. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2013. Bill and Bev lived in Cashton, WI, then Mayville, WI, then moved to Fond du Lac in 1994 after retiring. After retirement, they enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, volunteering at Galloway House, Act 2, Agnesian Healthcare and numerous other places. Bill and Beverly had six children: Ann (Mike) Sorgent, Mary Preston, Andrew (Cele) Preston, Carol Preston, Sharon (Kurt) Hoefert, and John (Patty) Preston. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Marcus (Amy) Sorgent, Amber Sorgent, Holly Sorgent, Ashley (Josh) Coleman, Joe Hoefert, and Karissa (Jacob) and Garrett Preston; great-grandchildren, Ramone Carrington, Miles Sorgent, Evan Sorgent, Max Sorgent, and Maggie Coleman; one sister, LaVerne (Bochek) Robbins; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; granddaughter, Maggie Hoefert; brothers, Roland and Roger; sister, Vivian; brothers-in-law, Jack and Jim; sisters-in-law, Alois, Josie, Connie, and Edna; and other family members.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from 9-11 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 200 S. Peters Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at the church on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow the service at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. This celebration of life will be taking place on Bill and Bev’s 65th Wedding Anniversary.
