Bruce L. Olp

Bruce L. Olp, 74, of Fond du
Lac, formerly of Minocqua, died Friday, December 11, 2015, at Kindred Hearts, Fond
du Lac.

 

He was born on February 5,
1941, at home, in Fond du Lac, a son of Rodney E. and Gladys I. Hildebrandt
Olp.

 

Bruce served with the United
States Navy on the U.S.S. William M. Wood.

 

On June 13, 1959, he married
Jeanne H. Dille in Dubuque, Iowa.

 

He worked as service manager
with Hansen Refrigeration and later was a resort owner in Minocqua.  Bruce was an active member in the Town of
Fond du Lac Fire Department and the Town of Minocqua Fire Department, serving
as fire chief.  He was a member of the
snowmobile club and ATV club.  He was a
member of Ascension Lutheran Church, Minocqua, and a member of Immanuel-Trinity
Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac.  He was
actively remodeling a 1951 Chevrolet pickup truck.

 

He is survived by his wife,
Jeanne; three children:  Suzanne (Allen)
Ramirez of Minocqua, Patricia (James) Powers of Horicon, and Michael (Taryn)
Olp of Minocqua; six grandchildren:  Sara
Olp, Brian Olp, Jacob Olp, Mary Cummings, Thomas Cummings, and Katherine
Powers; two great-grandsons:  Tyler
Mitsko and Noah Olp.  He is further
survived by a half-sister, Mary Lynn Olp of Louisiana; a stepsister, Barbara
Breister of Winneconne; two sisters-in-law: 
Beth Krause of Fond du Lac, and Christine Pieper of Fond du Lac; and
numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by
his parents; a grandson, Joshua; a brother, DuWayne Olp; a half-brother,
Clifford Olp; and two brothers-in-law: 
William Breister and David Pieper.

 

VISITATION:  The family will greet relatives and friends
from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Ascension
Lutheran Church, 7937 Hwy 51 South, Minocqua.

 

MEMORIAL SERVICE:  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m.
on Wednesday at Ascension Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. David Jensen and Rev.
Richard Likeness officiating.

 

VISITATION:   The family will greet relatives and friends
from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015, at Immanuel-Trinity
Lutheran Church, 20 Wisconsin American Drive, Fond du Lac.

 

MEMORIAL SERVICE:  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m.
on Monday at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Tom Meyer officiating.

 

Cremation has taken place.

 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial
is being established in Bruce’s name.
