Carl Boesch Jr.

Carl Boesch, Jr., age 90, of Chilton, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, at Libby’s House in Chilton. Carl was born January, 27, 1930, son of the late Carl and Ida (Diener) Boesch. On October 4, 1952, Carl married Donna Huebner at Zion United Methodist Church in Forest Junction. They were married for over 63 years until her death on March 21, 2016.

Carl took pride in his family and in his farm. He was so proud of how he and Donna created a family that is now over 80 members. He also was very proud of his 80 acre farm and how he changed it in looks over the years. He was a very immaculate and strong-willed farmer. With an eighth-grade education, he worked hard to provide a good life for his large family. Carl enjoyed the company of others, listening to polka music, a cold beer or Coke, along with a bag of chips or popcorn. He was certainly the monarch of the Boesch family.

Carl is survived by his nine children: Gary (LoAnn) Boesch, Sherrie (Ken) Schaefer, Sandy Schnuell, Randy (Kathy) Boesch, Candy (Matt) Gehl, Terry (Sara) Boesch, Barb (Paul) Price, Ken Boesch, and Karen (Brad) Hernke; 25 grandchildren: Dave Boesch, Kelly (Bill) Biese, A.J. (Cassie) Boesch, Erin (Mike) Nett, Tara (Nick) Bennin, Mathew (Cassie) Schaefer, Jake (Jenny) Schnuell, Kayla (Adam) Raquet, Ben (Samantha) Boesch, Chad (Fiancee, Marissa Lambrecht) Boesch, Andy (Connie) Gehl, Nathan Gehl, Matt (Samantha) Gehl, Josh (Nikki) Gehl, Angela (Tom) Breunig, Clint (Candace) Gehl, Kelsey Boesch, Kaitlyn (Chase) Owens, Kayde Boesch, James Sweere, Josh Sweere, Nathan Price, Keenan Hernke, and Emma Hernke; 39 great-grandchildren, and one on the way; a sister: Mary (Bill) Schomburg; sisters-in-law: Beverly Boesch, Diane Schaffer, and Dawn (Mike) Mathis; and many other relatives and friends.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his parents: Carl and Ida; an infant daughter: GayLynn Boesch; brother: Arthur Boesch; in-laws: Wilmer and Lilly Huebner; son-in-law: Roy Schnuell; granddaughter: Terrie (Schaefer) Zirbel; brother-in-law: Clayton Schaffer; and nephew: Jeremy Mathis.

Private funeral services are planned at this time. Due to covid-19 virus and the safety of others, the family will have a celebration of Carl’s life to be held at a later date in 2021.

Carl’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Libby’s House who were like family to Dad and us, and for their care and compassion shown to Dad. Also, to the caregivers from Heartland Hospice. Your help through this life’s journey will never be forgotten. May God bless you all.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in the name of Carl Boesch, Jr. Cards and memorials may be sent to the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St. Chilton, WI 53014), care of Boesch Family.

“Until we meet again, Dad, rest in peace. The shed doors are closed and the lights are turned off in the barn.”
